Casement Windows

A casement window is one that is attached to its frame by one or more hinges at the side, and open outward like a door. They look like a picture window because unlike double hung or sliding windows, a casement window has no rail. They are commonly held open with a casement stay. Casement windows are one of the most energy efficient windows, since the sash creates an airtight seal against the window frame that makes it difficult for any air to get through. For adequate ventilation and for unobstructed views, they are a great choice. The disadvantage, however, is that you cannot install an air conditioner unit inside a casement window due to the window being cranked outward.

Casement windows come in a wide variety of designs, materials and sizes. They work well included within a larger window installation, such as within bay, French, or bow windows. Call Premiere Windows today for an expert consultation regarding getting your casement windows installed or replaced.
